SEE-THROUGH HORN SPEAKERS Development Inside
Story |
The see-through horn model differs
obviously from the sound of UMU-131SS because of use of
acrylic boards and paint inside the exponential curved
horns. UMU-131SS is a calm sound by the internal loss
effect of MDF, but the see-through horn model is fresh
bright clear sound. The sound lives up to the image of
"Clear Acrylic" exactly. Smoked unnecessary sound
doesn't follows acrylic board, unlike wood. Many young
adults and general visitors except audio nuts preferred the
see-through sound to
UMU-131SS.

Finding is clear polycarbonate
screw. If use it, Hasehiro can fix the side baffle
boards to the speaker box without losing
beauty. Hasehiro received many feedbacks and
proposals from visitors. Most of them were about speaker
cables in the exponential horn. One feedback
was unattractiveness and the other was an
adverse effect on sound quality. (See
the above photo.) Of course they make
sense when think about
them.
|
Hasehiro
made anew 2 colored prototypes, in white and baby
blue. |
Very transparent acrylic brings out the color in a
very cool. Round heads of clear screws enhanced its
beauty. In addition, it became more really stylish
put on the vertical lines up and down. Connected
speaker
cables by
the most direct way. Painted white is so cold color. So,
Hasehiro recoated it to other white like iMac since
then. |
Acrylic is high
transparency. Even if over 1 meter thick, it can
allow the other side to show. |
It
allows the noise absorbing materials to show, too. Wool
felt looks very plain, so Hasehiro put white micron wool
felt in the air chamber. The sound became too glamorous
sound, so Hasehiro felt tired. And so he changed to
Tozawa styled noise absorbing
resonater. Hasehiro was surprised anew at its
effect. It refreshed his ears with eliminated unnecessary
sound. The sound became more a relaxing listener-friendly
sound. But it's a narrow air chamber, it is
necessary to crush that it. Not much change the noise
absorbency, even if crush the resonater. The problem is
look and feel of a crushed resonater. Hasehiro told
Mr.Tozawa a background to the matter. |

type RS: special island type |
Mr.Tozawa made it specially for AMA-131SS. (See the above photo.) It
is just the right size and shape to the narrow air
chamber. |
Though in
terms of sound quality, the standard pyramid type is better
than special island type. Hasehiro put 2
special island typed resonaters in the air chamber,
thinking it may be because its inner volume is too small
compared to the standard pyramid type. Nevertheless, in
terms of sound quality, 1 standard pyramid type is better
than 2 special island type. Hasehiro adopted the
standard pyramid type of Tozawa
styled noise absorbing resonater for
AMA-131SS. |

Black mixed
with navy blue is popular with men. That's quite
expensive-looking, looks nice to any
location. Baby blue is so beautiful, and
also white mixed with gray. Very transparent acrylic
brings out the color in a very cool. Pink is
popular with women. Silver looks really
elegant. |

|
AMA-131SS is so beautiful with a smart
atmosphere. So, that is
suitable for interior good, too. AMA-131SS
series is very popular regardless of age, sex and
its interest. |
