 May 2016

I painted MM-151ST with FOSTEX FE103-Sol
which I bought two years ago, so I will send you the photo.

A black painting was applied as
the base coat on the surfacer.
And I overpainted
japan-looking waterborne
urethane paint:
Kamakura-Red
to the image of FE103-Sol.

Fostex FE103-Sol
FE103-Sol

Seen through a black base
from under brush marks,
the painted surface looks like
a wood grain.
I feel like MM-151ST with
FOSTEX FE103-Sol
became the finely sound
after the painting.
It had a taste both sound and
appearance that commercial

MM-151ST with FE103-Sol
MM-151ST with FOSTEX FE103-Sol

loudspeakers don't have.

MM-151ST with FOSTEX FE103-Sol is connected
with a digital amplifier S.M.S.L SA-36A pro,
and I listen to the network source by
a single-board computer RASPBERRY PI with a music player VOLUMIO
every day.
It provides excellent sound in performance of a cost.
The digital amplifier enhances a fine refreshing sound of the middle
and the high frequency ranges, therefore, it has the maximum
refreshing sound.
So I listen to newly bought CD by this system first to make sure
the recording state.

MM-151ST with FE103-Sol also has a natural refreshing sound
in the low frequency range.
The voluminousness of low pitch sound is not lacking, but I feel a lack
in it a little due to the character of the digital amplifier.
I want to boost the low pitch sound if it has a tone control because
it plays low pitch sound of good quality.

 Mr.H, Fukushima Pref.
 May 2016

I was listening to jazz and rock by my own back loaded horn speaker
when I was young, but I listen to classical music a lot
by foreign loudspeakers with age.
This is because my opportunities to attend a classical concert
have increased.
Recently the digital-remastered old-time jazz and rock records
started being sold, so I came to listen to old-time records too.
"I want to listen to the back loaded sound again"

I placed MM-191T with Audio Nirvana Classic 8" Cast Frame together
with ANTHONY GALLO Reference 3.5 and TANNOY Turnberry/SE.

I listen to old recording sources through TANNOY Turnberry/SE,
and it plays music which is not obtained by another loudspeaker.
Turnberry/SE produces deep bass sounds, and it makes
the whole room like a musical instrument.

Fostex FE83En
FE83En

9-channel surround system added with 4-channel of FOSTEX FE83En
to ANTHONY GALLO 5-channel surround system is for AV and
new recording sources.
My 9-channel surround system reproduces the sound of a concert hall
with reality.
It has a subwoofer amplifier, so my 9-channel surround system
plays a voluminous bass like a super woofer.

MM-191T with Audio Nirvana Classic 8"
MM-191T with Audio Nirvana Classic 8" Cast Frame

The scale of MM-191T with Audio Nirvana Classic 8" Cast Frame is
comparable to TANNOY Turnberry/SE and 9-channel surround system.
A blast of this horn can not be listened
unless it is a large sized back loaded horn system.
I think that the sound pressure level is more than 95dB.

Jazz piano that is played by MM-191T with Classic 8" is realistic tone
and a beautiful.
I had the impression that the performer plays the guitar, saxophone
and the trumpet under my eyes.
The electric bass is powerful, and the lowest note extends well.
I can hear the sound of snare drums and cymbals clearly, it's exactly
a live atmosphere.

A high note is noisy when I listen to rock.
So I turned down the treble and boosted the bass.
The sound of MM-191T with Classic 8" suddenly became
extremely powerful sound as a result.
The texture of a drum is really amazing!
Audio Nirvana Classic 8" Cast Frame matchs guitar playing very well,
and its vocal is also beautiful.
Maybe no one can tell the pressure and the power of surging sound
from MM-191T with Classic 8" until hear it.
It would be difficult to get such a loudspeaker on the market.

The biggest point of
Hasehiro back loaded horn is a bass tone.
It is not deep bass, it has a good rising and falling characteristics.
In some cases, bass comes too strongly out of
back loaded horn speaker system.
But MM-191T moderates the voluminous, and extends
the reproducing limit with a good damping performance.
Audio Nirvana Classic 8" Cast Frame also has a good rising and
falling characteristics.
So they match each other very well.

Combining amp was tube integrated
amplifier McIntosh MA2275.
So, the thick middle-low tone suited
MM-191T.
Now it has switched over to
separate amplifiers LUXMAN
C-600f with
M-600A.

As a result, the transparency of
the sound increased, and it became
a clear sound with good balance

LuxMan C-600f and M-600A
upside LUXMAN C-600f
downside LUXMAN M-600A

over the whole sound region.
I think that new recording sources match with LUXMAN C-600f
with M-600A having both of power and delicacy.
I feel that LUXMAN C-600f with M-600A outrank McIntosh MA2275
as the whole.
But I choose McIntosh MA2275 for hot performance of jazz and rock.

In passing, I switched to
a digital amplifier made in China;
S.M.S.L SA-36A pro.
Because I felt that MM-191T with
Classic 8" is well suited for
a digital amplifier.
SA-36A pro on McIntosh MA2275
looks like a toy.
Both price and weight are almost
only 1/200 compared with MA2275.
"I thought so."

McIntosh MA2275 and
upside S.M.S.L SA-36A pro
downside McIntosh MA2275

MM-191T with Classic 8" played music by better-than-expected sound
that has hardened quality by LUXMAN C-600f with M-600A.
I already knew that the sound is thinner and the sound field is
narrower compared to those by C-600f with M-600A.
But the performance of MM-191T with Classic 8" by SA-36A pro
has the most speed over the whole sound region
among the 3 amplifiers.
It is a satisfactory megavolume at around 10:00 of
the volume control knob because MM-191T with Classic 8"
has a high SPL, but a bit short of the voluminousness of a bass tone
because SA-36A pro doesn't have a tone control.
So, forcefulness is not enough.
But I think it can't be helped due to a cheap switching power supply.
Perhaps SA-36A pro will make play the same kind of bass
as another 2 amps if it is a high-quality power supply.

Classic 8"
Classic 8"

MM-191T with Classic 8" plays a strong sound, so I can say
the sound is right because a digital amplifier makes less dense.
I think anyone can enjoy a wonderful music without waste money
if it is a combination of
Hasehiro back loaded horn system and
a digital amplifier.
Beyond that, the person can buy a lot of favorite CDs, and will also
go to costly concerts by using the surplus.
I thought that it would be happy to music lovers.

The defects of MM-191T with Audio Nirvana Classic 8" Cast Frame is
that it is not completely suited to the person who pursues healing
to music, because its sound does not have softness and a puff feeling.
The high-pitched tone level is high but not flat, and yet
it does not have exaggerated feeling.
MM-191T with Classic 8" plays any instruments by a realistic live tone.
But anyone will probably feel annoyed with it if does not pay attention
to the music due to special features of Classic 8".

As tone control, I think that increasing the weight of MM-191T
is effective.
I think it is better if lead sands are spread all over
the back of the horn opening, but I might become unable to move
MM-191T if so.
Further, I want to increase the reverberation sound of MM-191T
a little more because I usually listen to music
having much indirect sound.
Additionally, the sound of MM-191T may change by replacing
the side boards and the front baffle boards
with the resounding boards. And coating of MM-191T.

Thank you for your wonderful Hasehiro speakers.

 Mr.M, Tokyo
 December 2015

I listen to music without delay.
I'd been using 20cm bass reflex with a subwoofer up until now.
But I wanted to be able to hear back loaded horn sound, and so
I bought
SSC coated MM-181T and FAL C60 N 50neodymium.
Actually I wanted much larger FAL C90, but it didn't fit my budget.

FAL C60 N 50neodymium
C60 N

The low-pitched sound is on a solid basis,
and that sound is full of realism.
I feel as if sound images are localized than before.
I like movie music, and that, perhaps, I feel my favorite genre is fit
for back loaded horn system.
I want to compare after changing the crossover network
and the sound pressure level, etc.

SSC coated MM-181T with FAL C60 N 50neodymium is good
if listening to classical music and movie music.
But I think the smaller MM-T is good if listening to lively pop music
and in case of current FAL C60.
Because I think it plays too much low-pitched sound.

 Mr.Takahashi, Gunma Pref.
 September 2015

MM-151 arrived the other day.
I assembled it and mounted FOSTEX FE103-Sol (16Ω) on MM-151
immediately.
Unlike another back loaded horns, Hasehiro back loaded horn has
something different, and it's well-made.
It has amazing sound, and its tone quality is soft.
MM-151 with FOSTEX FE103-Sol (16Ω) is just like
a small TANNOY Stirling.
I think this MM-151 matches 300B tube power amp.

MM-151 with Fostex FE103-Sol
MM-151 with FOSTEX FE103-Sol

There is a knack in playing the back loaded horn system.
Especially, there is a difference in the middle-low tone
between transistor amp and tube amp.
Back loaded horn system matches tube amp,
it has a very different harmonic overtone.
Among that, 300B tube is further matched with
the back loaded horn system between 2A3 and 300B.

MM-151 with FOSTEX FE103-Sol (16Ω) plays music by a sound equal
to TANNOY Stirling in spite of just 10cm.
FOSTEX FE103-Sol (8Ω) is virtually unobtainable now.
So I bought FE103-Sol (16Ω) under unavoidable circumstances,
but it seems like it has good chemistry with MM-151.

Fostex FE103-Sol
FE103-Sol

Hasehiro back loaded enclosures have
an exponential curve, so they
have very few
standing wave.
As the result, they have very pure sound.
I have heard the sound of SWAN designed by
Mr.Tetsuo Nagaoka
a long time ago.
But I think MM-151 with FOSTEX FE103-Sol (16Ω) is better.
I appreciate your continuous support.

FF105WK

MM-151S with FOSTEX FF105WK was assembled yesterday,
and it played music.
It had a good match with MONITOR AUDIO GS10
in spite of a single 10cm full-range drivers.
It was beyond my imagination.
I want to go out with MM-151S with FOSTEX FF105WK
for a long time.

I overdid it and put
Dvořák: Symphony No.9 "FROM THE NEW WORLD".
MM-151S with FOSTEX FF105WK successfully completed
the first movement "Adagio", but screamed
in the last movement "Allegro con fuoco".
I will use it with care.

I fixed the front baffles with
wood screws.
I am glad that I could find MM DIY box, and I will order
the wooden speaker grills later.
Thank you very much.

I didn't know PARC Audio until I visited Hasehiro website.
And I mounted PARC Audio DCU-F131W on
upgraded MM-161S
from MM-151S.

The straightforward low tone spreading downward was true
to everybody's reputation.
MM-161S with DCU-F131W played bass drums and base beat
of PLAY BACH by Jacques Loussier Trio powerfully
with beautifully.
Furthermore, the high tone jumps up sharply,
and the attack of a piano is beautiful, too.
I am happy to be able to listen to particle of sound
of the string quartet.
I had a blissful time when I listened to
Franz Joseph Haydn.

Fostex FF165WK
FF165WK

MM-171T with FOSTEX FF165WK is assembled at today's evening.
It is very good sound, and I amn't tired from listening the sound
even in long listening.

I listened to Charles Camille Saint-Saëns,
Symphony No.3 "ORGAN" on SACD as the first music.
Because that is the SACD that lead me to wanting more bass tone.
I had heard the lowest bass tone of pipe organ with a clouded sound
up until today, but MM-171T with FOSTEX FF165WK plays it
with a solid sound.
And also, it plays individual instruments loudly and clearly
having a modulation feeling.

I should be able to enjoy, thank you very much.

TG9FD-10-04

Thank you for your shipment.
I assembled MM-141S with PeerLess TG9FD-10-04 immediately,
and I continued to spin music for half a day.
I was amazed to listen to piano solo.
It sounds like a live piano performance in front of me.
This is just 3D sound.
Violoncello is also so good, I can hear the unimaginable vibrancy
of the strings.
For the time being I enjoy listening to my CDs again.
Thank you for the great encounter.

PS
Recently I'm listening to music with shifting amps:
tube, transistor and Chinese-made digital amplifier.
I completely understand each difference.
I should have bought MM-141S much earlier.
Although back loaded horn system, it's small full-range speaker.
I didn't expect much without hesitation,
but MM-141S with PeerLess TG9FD-10-04 performed
at a level beyond my imagining.
Next time I want to try a different speaker driver.

Custom-Ordered MM-191T
Report from Hasehiro

The order is
SSC coated MM-191T and matte-black
urethane painted assembly.
I recommended L.Cao FA8 Alnico from his favorite musical genre,
and he decided in this combination.
I spent about three months to complete.

MM-191T with L.Cao FA8 Alnico
urethane painted SSC-MM-191T with L.Cao FA8 Alnico

I started listening to string music because L.Cao FA8
has alnico magnet.
Then I heard long-forgotten wonderful tone downright.

It had a huge similarity
to my favorite nowdefunct great masterpiece Roiene RA160.
I made and sold double-layered hybrid back loaded horn enclosures
with Roiene RA160.
At first, I mounted it on
WCW-160 for 16cm drivers, and then,
mounted it on
WCW-200 for 20cm drivers as WCW-2016R.
Everybody loved the tone of WCW-2016R
and it took constant many orders.
WCW-2016R created distinctive atmosphere, especially strings.

Sometimes, WCW-2016R played violoncello
in a deeply melancholy tone.
I felt twinges of horror by the tone,
and fought off a sob.
Sweet high note of top E string of a violin was
very beautiful, and brought me to dream world.
WCW-2016R made music light and dark,
and added depth to performance.
WCW-2016R arranged music with the spirit.
WCW-2016R was discontinued unwillingly
despite healthy sales because Roiene Audio
closed a business without previous notice.
Since then I met various wonderful drivers
both foreign and domestic, but

WCW-2016R
WCW-2016R

haven't met driver very similar to Roiene RA160's tone.

This MM-191T with L.Cao FA8 Alnico is quite similar to the tone
of that WCW-2016R.
All in all the strings are wonderful.
Violoncello is a melancholy soft tone, and there is intonation
in the performance.
It creates a distinct atmosphere.
Vocal is also very wonderful. I guess it's because it has
a high sensitivity.
I'm tempted by the words if it's an expressive singer. I guess it's
because I can hear vowel clearly.
This combination of MM-191T and L.Cao FA8 Alnico is acclaimed by
Hasehiro listening room's outspoken regulars, too.

MM-191T: 310(W)X900(H)X450(D)mm

 Mr.M, Hiroshima City
 January 2015

Nearly 6 months have passed since the arrival of
urethane painted
SSC-MM-191T with L.Cao FA8 Alnico.
I listened to different genres of music in this aging period;
classic, wind-instrument, jazz, rock, pop, Japanese traditional,
folk music and the rest.
Just mention about classic music is symphony, orchestral works,
chamber music, instrumental, chorus, lyrics and the rest.

L.Cao FA8 Alnico In a word,
This speaker system plays the
beautiful sound doubly beautiful,
and it plays other sound
in its own way.
I'm sure that this speaker system
gives an answer directly
about good and bad recording
of the sound source.

I dare say as a general reminder.
This speaker system playing
strikes a sympathetic chord
like an instrument
if its recording is good.
Depending on the sound source,
this speaker system playing
has the beauty of a splendid and a sensitive landscape,
also it provides coquetry like naked body.

I knew back loaded horn speakers designed by
Mr.Tetsuo Nagaoka,
but I listened to sound itself for the first time by this purchase.
This was a great adventure for me, but I feel fortunate
that my first listening back loaded sound is
Hasehiro exponential curved horn speaker system.
Perhaps I didn't purchase back loaded horn speakers
if my first listening back loaded sound is Nagaoka design models.
I have been audio nut for 25 years, but SSC-MM-191T with FA8 Alnico
brings endless surprises and discoveries.
It was so good I added the finishing touch on my audio system
with this speaker system.
It's most thoughtful of you to accept my selfish.

June 2014

Thank you for your continued business.
3 years have passed since I bought MM-191T.
At first I had sounded MM-191T with FOSTEX F200A,
but I was not completely satisfied with that combination.

Super 8 Alnico
Super 8 Alnico

I was referred to Audio Nirvana Super 8 Alnico by Hasehiro
when I had mulled changing to other speaker driver.
So I took the plunge and changed.

I don't know how to describe it,
but Audio Nirvana Super 8 Alnico is good and brings me comfort.
Its sound catapults forward and it has a clipped tight bass.
Hasehiro gave me a good deal.
I'm a jazz listener, super tweeter highlights the sharp treble.

Red and black aren't paint, I put sheets.
Paint too hard for me and it's

Sheets come in various shades such as grain pattern and plain color.
At first I finished black and black for flavor of
pianoblack,
but this time is red and black finish.

MM-191T with FE206En

I painted MM-191T in my own way.
It was not that easy, but my MM-191T with FOSTEX FE206En
became the only loudspeakers in the world.

Additionally I hung 10 Lipton® tea bags
in the air chamber of MM-191T
as sound absorption material.

The bass volume increased more than doing
nothing at all.
Some back loaded horn owners overlay
black cobbled stones to cover the bottom
of the horn opening.
So I overlaid it to cover the bottom of
the horn opening for my MM-191T.

The result is that the bass tightened, but its volume decreased.

FOSTEX FF225WK arrived, and I mounted it on MM-191T yesterday.
I had used
JBL 4312D up to date.

Fostex FF225WK
FF225WK

Compared to JBL 4312D, MM-191T with FF225WK is;

1.
It has a strong vocal.
2.
The middle-low range was spread.
As a result, I found the sound, which could not to be heard until now.
3.
Energetic feeling was obtained on the whole music.
4.
The whole sounds are getting a good balance.
5.
It vividly conveys the tone of a musical instrument and so on.

I might give many improvements.
Such is
Hasehiro back loaded horn system.
In my submission...
MM-191T with FOSTEX FF225WK passed JBL 4312D.
MM kit brings the pleasure of making and such a wonderful sound.
And I get attached to it watching the MM-191T.
I'm glad that I met Hasehiro Audio and
finally obtained the back loaded horn speaker I had wanted
for a long time.

Custom MM-181 with Four Eyes
Report from Hasehiro

I received a unique custom loudspeaker with the client's idea.
It's MM-181K carrying 4 drivers.
I have ever produced custom loudspeaker with 2 drivers
but never produced it with 4 drivers before.

Calculated simply, the area of those 4 diaphragms largely similar to
one 16cm driver, but is there a clear jump in sound?
MM-181K-mounted drivers are FOSTEX FE83En (8cm).

Fostex FE83En
FE83En

I wired four FE83En drivers in parallel after completion
of the enclosure, but it was a hard work
due to the small baffle aperture.
Strange face with 4 eyes looks deadpan,
but the sound of the MM-181K with four FE83En drivers
was better than expected.

MM-181K with 4-FE83En
bonded type painted MM-181K with 4-FOSTEX FE83En

Sound source is diffusely spread from 4 points,
so it feels like it sounds from a larger area than one 16cm driver,
and it has non-irritating mighty sound.
It's certain that this MM-181K has a much clearer and finer sound,
and also greater sense of speed than one 16cm driver
by a difference in
moment of inertia.
This advantage is easy to understand when listening
to a big orchestra.
A wide full-range driver is unreasonable to play many instruments
at the same time, it often makes the sounds into a ball.
But the method of this MM-181K can completely separate
multiple instruments, and it can play a symphony with comfort.

Even so, the low tone fell short of expectations.
I think it will result in a different outcome from that if these 4 drivers
are DIY Audio SA/F80AMG instead of FOSTEX FE83En.

― Comment from The Client ―

Sure the bass is poor, but it's hard to imagine that powerless FE83En.
It plays light and unfaltering sound.
Even when I turned up the volume, it playd the sound solidly.

and with gold cone Markaudio Alpair10g2.

"What?!"
when I have received a request for the combination of colors.
But after completion, it is an innovative good design.
Two-color MM-181K with Markaudio Alpair10g2 Gold was very popular
in the listening room until delivery.

 August 2012

I bought MM-161T and PARC Audio coaxial DCU-C171PP
that Hasehiro introduced to me.
That was six months ago, I am very satisfied.
I need a loud boom of gran casa, so I have added a super woofer.

PARC Audio DCU-C171PP
DCU-C171PP

I challenged the painting of MM-161T during the consecutive holidays
because I have been thinking about it since before.
It is not only the outside but also the inside of MM-161T
including the air chamber, the throat and the horn.
I wanted to improve the sound quality of MM-161T with DCU-C171PP
by
hardening the inside.

1.
I broke down into components, and sanded all boards
with
abrasive paper.
2.
I applied
abrasive grain on all of the boards, and sanded them
with abrasive paper.
3.
I applied
oil-based varnish to all boards, and sanded them
with abrasive paper. (repeated 3 times)

I spent 10 days to reassemble MM-161T with DCU-C171PP.
The side boards having a wide area became the painting unevenness,
but it is bathed in an amber light and has turned out well as a whole.

Due to loose sound,
black cobbled stones were spread all over
the air chamber and the horn-opening area.
And I put
coconut husk charcoal pack as absorption material,
one pack in the horn and two packs in the air chamber.
Furthermore, I hung 4 Lipton® tea bags in the air chamber.

Painted MM-161T with DCU-C171PP has come to be able to play
a forceful low pitch sound from the beginning of July
after about two months.
Specifically, strings increased in thickness, and started playing
in the hard-core note such as a cello and a bass.
And the position of a sound image localization became clear, so I had
come to understand the movement of each instrument
in an orchestra perfectly.

I have even listened in monotonous adagio
of the main constituent of strings, and I became able to receive
an impression by its deep tone.
I like a performance by Herbert von Karajan, and have many his CDs.
His Josef Anton Bruckner, 9 SYMPHONIES became popular,
but I could not understand the reason.
I had the impression that the brass are just noisy,
so I thought of selling the CD.
However, the painted MM-161T with DCU-C171PP played the CD
by a pyramid structure supported by a deep bass, and does not
give me a feeling of brass noisiness.

Introduction
Symphony No.5
I was surprised when I listened to the first pizzicato.

Finale
Symphony No.5
I was so dumbfounded that strings, brass, continuous blow of timpani
and a tremendous explosion of the fugue.

Symphony No.1
I thought the performance is wonderful, too.
Strings collided with each other, and sang a melody with eloquence.

It means that the painted MM-161T with DCU-C171PP was able to
reproduce the original music of
Herbert von Karajan
by its expressiveness.
It expressed a low frequency range sound which could not to be heard
until now, and the aspect of the music
has completely changed.
I put down
Corian board under the painted MM-161T because it has excessive part in high pitch sound of timpani.
Additionally, I put
felting into the horn-opening area, I will adjust it
without having adverse effect to a superb low pitch sound.

Effect of aging and painting appeared after a lapse of six months,
and it brings endless new discovery.
So, I am exciting to listen to old CDs anew.
I got to know
Hasehiro horn system in an unexpected way, and
I have been able to discover the new sounds thanks to Hasehiro.
You reminded me of the enjoyment of listening the music,
so I have to be appreciative of Hasehiro.
I am thinking about
upgrading to MM-181T from the present MM-161T
in the future.

MM-161T: 220(W)x900(H)x450(D)mm

 March 2013

Hasehiro replied that the scale of the sound increases
if you increase the layered boards
when I consulted
my MM-161T
upgrade.
Moreover, I told that I like a direct clear sound. Hasehiro replied,
"It has a rich atmosphere of hall tone if you upgrade to MM-181T,
so I recommend that you upgrade to MM-171T."

I bought one set of MM-T layered boards for 2 channel and
the one pair of
the SSC coated front baffle boards in mid-November.
I painted the layered boards
in a same manner and hung
3 Lipton® tea bags in the air chamber of upgraded MM-171T.
Always I feel nervous with expectation and anxiety
when play the sounds for the first time.
I made a comparison between the sound of upgraded MM-171T and
the afterimage of the sound of the previous MM-161T.
The sound hasn't reached the previous grade.
A high band does not spread, and a low band has excessive part
but it is lacking in depth.
I spread
black cobbled stones over the horn opening and inserted
a round bar having 3cm diameter as a measure
against excess of low pitch sound.
Additionally, I put
needle felt for the control of the low pitch sound.

"A MIDSUMMER NIGHT'S DREAM"
Felix Mendelssohn
It's a balanced low pitch sound!, but the left violin is lackluster quality
even though a cello and a contrabass have a rich tone.
The tweeter cord was unplugged from DCU-C171PP when I checked
the air chamber of the left MM-171T.
It was due to a simple reason. At the same time I confirmed
my own hearing ability.
It is certain that the sound has an overlap with my imagined sound.
A stage appears between both MM-171T speakers.
There are violins on the left, cellos and contrabasses on the right
and woodwinds in the centre.
I can realistically feel that horns strongly play from the left, and
trombones with contrabasses respond from the right.

MM-171T with PARC Audio DCU-C171PP

The localization of musical instruments is more excellent
when I listen to chamber music.
I was so impressed that I had goose bumps from a rich sound,
particularly strings.
I can understand the foundation of orchestral works well, and make
a new understanding when I listen to a trombon and a contrabass.
Especially, string orchestra entertains me with a fascinating tone.

I introduced back loaded horn speaker for exciting hitting of gran casa,
but I came to feel very good about a massive tone of strings.
I am immersed in the pleasure of listening music.
I pursued my own sound, and spent almost one year.
Thank you!

June 2012

Thank you.
My special order speakers were to arrive on Saturday
and I immediately listened to it.
The high-pitched tone was sweet sound and the low-pitched tone
was a large sound.

This sound is exactly what I was hoping for!

At first, distortion noise could be heard
coming from the high-pitched tone of SICA 20cm full-range.
But the high-pitched tone of this PARC Audio woofer DCU-151W is
distortion-free sweet sound from the beginning.

PARC Audio DCU-151W

You recommended SICA 20cm full-range when I asked you
to make speakers of muscular bass.
Hence SICA 20cm full-range is still ahead in dynamism
of the low-pitched tone.
Midrange, DCU-151W woofer is very pleasing with a gentle sound
than SICA full-range.

The passage of the aging will lead to a change in the sound
of MM-161K with PARC Audio DCU-151W.
The sound is going to be a desired tone color.

April 2012

At the end of last year,
I loved MM kit at first sight at Hasehiro event in Ginza
and bought MM-161S.

It's getting warmer, I painted my MM-161S for two weeks.
I cleared the gap of the front baffle boards by retightening all bolts
and primed the bodies by
sealer.
After that, I faced the bodies by water-based
clear lacquer and
black lacquer.
Immediately I am listening to my favorite jazz in today.
It's like I'm listening to live music than ever, but might be
self-satisfying for me.

I'm really excited with MM kit, and it made me feel young again.
I'm glad I discovered MM kit.
I wish you continued success and prosperity for your own business
more and more.

FE208ES-R
FE208ES-R

I'm T mounting FOSTEX FE208ES-R on MM-1101T.
Already 3.5 years pass and it is nearly done with the aging.
So I report on it.
In the beginning, low-pitched tone didn't come out from FE208ES-R,
so high-pitched tone was very noisy.
But the noisiness is gone and the low-pitched tone came out
by slow degrees.
Now I think it plays music with balance.
Believing that alnico magnet plays an invigorating sound,
so I bought FOSTEX FE208ES-R.
It took 3.5 years, and it seems that my desired sound
finally came out.
It is no wonder that the aging takes many years to complete
because I listened daily for only about 30 minutes.
Now the sound of my MM-1101T bears comparison
with my sound criterion STAX earspeaker.
At this moment I rarely use STAX earspeaker.

Recently I went to Akihabara to listen to the sound of B&W speaker
of JPY600,000 after so long.
B&W is also my favorite tone quality, but MM-1101T with FE208ES-R
is more than that.
It may be said that MM-1101T with FE208ES-R is much better
than B&W because the efficiency is far higher.
Anyhow, MM-1101T with FE208ES-R plays a refreshing sound,
and has high resolution.
It sounds like peeling a veil even previously-heard CDs.
I suppose that the sound localization and
spread of sound to the space are the highest level
in full-range single driver speakers.
But powerless amplifier may not drive FE208ES-R because
it sounds like a sound ball when I connect to
another inexpensive amplifier.
The amplifiers affected by the back electromotive force may not be
able to drive FE208ES-R because of high efficiency.
I think maybe tube amp is more suitable for FE208ES-R
because of low feedback.

 Mr.suna-t, Yamanashi Pref.
 January 2012

I bought MM-141S and DIY Audio SA/F80AMG through a dealer
the day before yesterday.
A speaker driver is mounted to the outside of a front baffle
in ordinary circumstances, but I thought
to mount SA/F80AMG to the inside
because the air chamber of MM-141S has enough space
and I can protect the diaphragm.

And so I bonded all of the construction boards of MM-141S
with a diluted
bond yesterday.
I was thinking about reporting the MM-141S with SA/F80AMG of you
after a long listening time after being completely cured.
Despite this, I allowed it to play music in a temporarily put condition
even though the bond is half-dried.
I was moved by the sound of MM-141S with SA/F80AMG and
I have written my impressions now.

a temporarily put condition

MM-141S with SA/F80AMG
MM-141S with DIY Audio SA/F80AMG

I was charmed.
Musical instruments are positioned behind the MM-141S.
MM-141S with SA/F80AMG has a rich bass sound,
and plays high pitch sound of strings of baroque music beautifully.
Also it plays Keith Jarrett's piano playing containing a glossy feeling.

In addition, it has a sence of scale I can't believe
it is only 8cm speaker driver.
I understood that MM-141S and DIY Audio SA/F80AMG are sold in sets
by the dealer.

Inside mounting of speaker driver enhances its safety,
so I want to recommend it to Hasehiro MM owners.
It can reduce the volume of the air chamber of MM-141S, and so
it can put the higher back load. <
related owner voice >
As a result, perhaps I can feel a rich bass sound
although not a deep bass sound.

I didn't use the accompanying
needle felting, I made
absorption materials each having the form of
a regular quadrangular pyramid about 4c㎥ using
kitchen paper
and
cotton wool. I have put 2 quadrangular pyramids
into the air chamber of MM-141S.

I am hoping that the sound to be improved by
further advanced bond drying of MM-141S and aging of SA/F80AMG.
I am very happy about getting a good buy.
I would like to recommend Hasehiro speakers to my friends.

November 2011

Report from Hasehiro

At the end of last month a visitor brought me a unique speakers,
but they aren't a loudspeaker;
rather, they are back loaded experimental horns.
They are a U-shape back loaded horns made of MDF
measuring about 1m in length.
He focused its attention on an air chamber.
Air chamber with the baffle can be attached and removed easily.
The experimental horn is excellent.

He had 3 differently-shaped air chambers,
but they have the same capacity.
One is a cubic shape, the second is a funnel shape
and the third is a pointed hat shape.
I know that the quality of sound changes with the capacity of
an air chamber from my experience.
But I could clearly understand that the sound quality also can change
by its shape and the position of throat from this experiment.

experimental horn
experimental horns

The sound of a cubic air chamber was relaxed, but a little stayed in it.
This muffled sound will disappear by the insertion of
sound absorbing materials into the air chambers.
Next is a funnel-shaped air chamber, it send a sound
into the throat like funnel.
The sound was very clear, but it is difficult to expect bass.
The experimental horns can replace the air chambers with others
at one-touch operation.
But I couldn't make a detailed comparison of the three sounds
because there was only one set of speaker drivers,
it took too much time to replace the drivers.
In the background, I liked the sound of a pointed hat shape
if not want bass. It was well-balanced sound.

In a sense, a funnel shape and a pointed hat shape
are reverse back loaded system.
Combine the concept of normal and reverse back loaded system:
this is perversive proposal, but it might be interesting.
Please try to alter your MM kit if you are interested.

Report from Hasehiro

I have been making
PMP-151S mounting EMS LB6 for demonstration.
Before its completion, I could complete
lacquered MM-151SK with LB6 I had received the order.
Lacquer finish is characterized by spreading sound gently.
I chose the paint after hearing the client's favorite sound quality.

MM-151SK with EMS LB6
lacquered MM-151SK with EMS LB6

I temporary mounted EMS LB6 on PMP-151S of cashew paint
and compared both sounds.
PMP-151S with LB6 played big-boned dynamic sound with
bright beauty color such as a piano and a violin.

When switched to lacquered MM-151SK with LB6,
the sound pressure dropped a little bit and it lacked in dynamism.
So I was a little short with it, but it's beginning to understand
what the charm gradually.
Lacquered MM-151SK with LB6 expands the acoustic field gently,
and it has a relaxing tone unobtrusively.
The musics envelop the listeners in a warm hug.
The client liked the sound by lacquer finish.
And he says,
That's high-class sound!

Sound quality varies greatly depending on paint.
If you need about completed Hasehiro back loaded horn speakers,
I will choose the paint that suit your favorite sound quality.
