Working Principle of Reverse
System |
Diaphragm
of speaker driver is small amplitude vibration in
mid-
high-tone range.
Therefore, it doesn't get the
blowback from driver.
But the driver diaphragm is
large amplitude vibration in low-tone
range, so it will get
an adequate blowback from driver.
As a
result, its driver plays the high responsive and high
linearity
sound oneself from low to high-tone
range.
If it compared to automobile, backloaded
horn is Turbo engine and
reverse one is well-honed
Formula One (F1) engine.
This is not comparative merits and
demerits of backloaded horn and
reverse backloaded
horn. This is a matter of taste.

contrasted backloaded horn sound with
reverse one
at The 9th Vacuum Tube Audio Fair
in Akihabara,Tokyo.
About 20% of the visitors liked
reverse backloaded horn sound
better than it. Better
backloaded horn than reverse one about
low-tone range,
but better reverse backloaded horn than it about
the sound
localization and exhilaration.
MM exponential horn allowed
the reverse backloaded horn system.
The reverse
backloaded horn system will natural attenuate the
blowback
of drivers by taper-shaped horns.
It has infinite
baffle-like utility.
Cone paper of driver cadences in
response to a weak signal in mid-
high-tone range in
case of the reverse backloaded horn system
because it
doesn't get the blowback from driver.
Furthermore, the
forward sound is insusceptible to its blowback
sound. So,
the system has better volume feeling and texture
than
closed system, but the system is inferior to
backloaded horn system
in volume
feeling. |

Step
01:
Turn MM-141/MM-151
upside down.
Loosen
the nearest 3 nuts
with a wrench,
and remove the
front
baffle board for the back
loaded horn
system. |

Step 02:
Pull the dedicated cable
from the horn
opening.
Connect the dedicated cable
to the front baffle
board
for the reverse back loaded
horn system.
It
doesn't need any
absorbing
materials. |
Step 03:
Tighten the nearest 3 nuts
with a
wrench.
You can enjoy both
back loaded horn
and
reverse one from now. |
